Lincolnwood is a village located 10 miles north of downtown Chicago; it provides a gateway to Chicago land’s North Shore. It is a community of approximately 12,590 people, who belong to different backgrounds and ethnicities. Lincoln wood is beautifully maintained with trees, parks and gorgeous houses. They also provide an excellent education system. Business communities are flourishing there.
Lincolnwood was formerly known as Tess Ville. It was incorporated in 1911 and is governed by a president with six trustees elected from the village. The village was renamed Lincolnwood in 1936 by its then elected Mayor, Proesel. The population of Lincolnwood started to grow when Eden’s expressway opened. This is when the village earned the status of a suburb.
The highlights of Lincolnwood include beautiful parks, the light industry, and its education system. To name a few the Lincolnwood fest, the Lincolnwood parks and recreation, the Lincolnwood pool and the Lincolnwood chamber orchestra. Lincolnwood has a variety of wonderful places to dine at such as Psistaria Greek tavern, L Woods Tap and Pine Lodge, 90 Miles Cuban Café and more.
Lincolnwood like its counterparts is also fairly cold. The rainfall it receives is far more than the average city. Even in the driest month, it receives a fair amount of rainfall averaging 36 inches every year.
In Lincolnwood the summers are humid and the winter months are a bit harsh. The temperature in Lincolnwood varies throughout the year. The city has some clearer months, but cloudy weather is quite common in the city. The colder months start from December and carry on till March. Overall, Lincolnwood is a beautiful suburb with an excellent lifestyle and comfort to offer.
