About Dunning, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Cook County bought 160 acres of land from Peter Ludby to build a poorhouse and an asylum in 1851. After the civil war, about 120 acres of land was purchased by Andrew Dunning just south of the county. In 1882 a track was built between Chicago and Dunning, creating a station named Dunning.

Dunning is a peaceful suburb and is not densely populated.  Dunning is a border to Harwood Heights, Elmwood parks, Norridge and River Groove villages. The population of Dunning increased after World War 1, when people from Sweden, Germany, and Poland settled there.  It is a beautiful and welcoming neighborhood with a diverse group of residents.

It hosts Wright College, which appeals to the younger demographic. This suburb attracts people for many reasons such as its eateries, especially the renowned Eli’s Cheesecake Factory. It encompasses beautiful parks and parks like the Shabonna Park, the Galos Caves, and the Merrimac Park. It is an excellent choice for residential needs. The peace and quiet provide a much-needed escape from the bustling city life. There are quite a few options for shopping as well. The Schorsch Street is quite famous, even though it is a quiet street. It was majorly built by the Schorsch brothers. It is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in the city.

Dunning has a widely varying climate. It experiences moderate winters and hot summers.  Its weather, like most of Illinois, is unpredictable due to being located in the middle of the continent. The rain is heavy and pours heavily even in the drier months. The lowest average temperature of the city can be experienced in February, where it is 27 degrees Fahrenheit. On the pollution index, it has been scored to be 25% better than the national average. The highest temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit, recorded in the month of July.
